Transportation Planning Session
Today, members of Our Region Tomorrow and members of the Transportation and Logistics Roundtable of the Tallahassee/Leon County EDC met in a planning session to discuss closer coordination between key stakeholder groups and likely collaboration on a joint event. The meeting resulted as an action item from the ORT Transportation Task Force meeting held August 4.
Key participants in today’s planning session included Mark Llewellyn of Genesis Group, Harry Reed of CRTPA, Brian Waterman of StarMetro, Lee Daniel of the Leon County Tourism Development Council, Kristin Dozier of Sustainable Tallahassee, and Sue Dick of the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce. A key focus for Our Region Tomorrow and for its partners has been identifying common objectives that all interested parties could collaborate on. A frequently recurring theme is the role of transportation in economic development.
Llewellyn moderated the meeting and helped identify some of those common objectives. Under discussion were the planning projects currently underway by StarMetro and CRTPA. More information on those projects will be posted here on the ORT site after the full list is compiled.
A next step is to conduct a meeting—most likely in late October—with a wider range of participants from throughout the region and from additional sectors. Stay tuned, or for more information, contact Matt Doster (matt@ourregiontomorrow.org).
