Public forum on economic development issues held at TCC Capitol Center

July 31, 2009 | Blog

Enterprise Florida hosted an excellent meeting at the TCC Capitol Center yesterday, as the statewide partnership for economic development conducts regional workshops to help develop the statewide roadmap for economic development. EFI Vice Chair and former House Speaker Allan Bense moderated a distinguished panel which included Sen. Al Lawson, Rep. Marti Coley, and Secretary Tom Pelham of the Department of Community Affairs.

Representative Jimmy Patronis (Panama City Beach) closed with a comment that has been heard before and which continues to ring true: North Florida has a great opportunity to avoid the crowding and congestion other parts of the state suffer from, and which they will never have a chance to “do over.” There is certainly a golden opportunity for Our Region to get it right, but the clock is ticking.
